Riding a horse PDF Print E-mail
Written by Mary Anne Miller

Riding a horse for the very first time can be exciting, scary and exhilarating. Your best bet is to find a qualified instructor in your area that will walk you through groundwork first, which will not only boost your confidence, but it will also set the stage for you to get into the saddle the right way, and not end up on the ground in a heap wondering if your arms and legs will move. Take lessons from a qualified instructor for at least a year. This will help to boost your confidence and make it easier for you to understand your horse, and know what is expected of you as a rider.

Before you even get on your horse for the first time, have a good solid base of groundwork down so the two of you can communicate.

Good luck!
