Within a week, I noticed an improvement in Trav's walk. In two weeks, I had gone from clumsily painting the mixture on the hoof with a small paintbrush three times a day, to using a toothbrush and scrubbing the hoof wall and all the fissures twice a day. Then I would paint it on his frog and the bottom of his hoof. I would also paint his coronary band. The transformation was remarkable! By three weeks, Trav was galloping the pastures with his buddy, and my farrier and  vet were completely amazed.

I began to share my discovery, first on a farrier's board, where they about laughed me off the website in their scorn and disbelief. I called Geronimo to let him know, and he was excited that I had found something that worked. He said he would look into it. Then I hit the horse forums, letting frustrated horse owners know about this treatment. And, it worked for them! Everyone that I shared this with, and everyone who tried it with their horses emailed me back, elated that it worked! I still use it today. Several drops go in my horses water buckets, and though I know longer have to paint it on Trav's hoof, it is still a part of my regular regime with them.

A horse's hoof is the one area you want to keep completely healthy. Once disease sets in (and I have also recently had to deal with founder) the horse is unable to move right, is in pain and discomfort and needs to be doped up with banamine, which is not a good option for any horse.

The only experts that didn't laugh at my treatment program were Geronimo and my farrier. My hope is that they really did check it out and have shared this information with other frustrated horse owners who battled this. I am not sure how GSE works, only that it does.
