Some people were telling me to confine Racer, while others were saying he needed to move around. I had forgotten about listening to him, and with so many other voices in my head, I forgot about the most important one- Racer's

December 7th- 

 

Last night, I added even more bedding for Racer and confined him to his stall for the night.   This morning I went out there with Mike and we hung up a buoy for him to play with, and put a raised rack in his feeder to bring his hay up from the bottom so he doesn’t have to lean forward so much to eat, thus taking off the pressure of his front legs. I felt bad confining him, but when the gate was open, he showed no interest in coming out anyway, or challenging the entry way. I wanted to just lay down and sack out with him, that bedding is nice!  He didn’t want his bute, but I gave him 1 gram of it- it is hard to listen to him and not know if he is just being a brat.

 

Mike took him down to the creek, but he wouldn’t get in, so Mike took him over to the flooded pasture and let him stand in the cold water. He did that for 7 minutes than told Mike he wanted to go back to the barn-
