Hot Soaks and TLC to combat Founder PDF Print E-mail

Racer started blowing abscesses out of the bottom of his feet. I began to soak his feet three times a day in as hot of water as he could tolerate and Epsom Salts. Michael, my husband, decided to install a hot water faucet outside so I could get to it easier.

Racer crashed again…L  I put him in his stall and spent the day soaking his feet in hot water and salts. At this point, I do not know what to do, and hope that Andrea gets to him quickly. Mike thinks I am nuts for trying an animal communicator, but what choice do I have? My vet is baffled, and his answer to everything that goes wrong is Bute!

I joined a mailing list of equine vets and will bring up my nerve soon to post and ask them some very pointed questions.  Racer is spending the majority of this time laying down in his stall. The natural fiber cardboard bedding does seem to help him with the padding issue. His gate is open to his stall, but he shows no inclination of wanting to leave. Trav keeps vigil nearby in his stall. He too, will not stray far from his buddy.
