The Farrier visit PDF Print E-mail
Written by Mary Anne
This morning, my farrier delivered some pretty astonishing news after the horse's had their trim....

Clint was bent over Racer's front leg, and had just made a nice trim of the hoof. I was at Racer's head, holding the lead rope and keeping him off the grass, when Clint swore under his breath and told me to come here quickly!

Fearing the worst, I bent over to see what had gotten Clint's attention. Clint was showing me the bottom of Racer's hoof where the laminae was apparent in a clear and concise and connected pattern all the way around the hoof. The tissue  and membraine looked undamaged!

Clint said that if he didn't know better, he would swear this horse had never foundered! In his seventeen years of working with foundered horses, he said he has only seen this happen in three horses. Race is the third!!!!  GO TWITNOSE!  I am so relieved, and happy and ectastic about this news. It's an early Christmas present for me!
